Coupon-Based Promotion

Hello, let me show you how to create a coupon-based promotion. I will first log into backoffice as admin.  By default, password for admin is nimda. Then I will navigate to the Coupons node.  As a preparation for this demo, I have already created a coupon that will be used as the condition for the coupon-based promotion.  Now let me create the promotion. I navigate to the Promotion Rules node and click on the plus icon.  Then I enter a unique code, and a name as a brief description for the promotion.  Let us say, I will create a promotion that offers a free gift with a coupon, but only when the shopping cart value is more than 100 Dollars.  I will hit finish to create the promotion first, then either click on the notification’s promotion code,  or search for the promotion code and edit it directly.  I will make sure the promotion can be used on electronics website  later and set the priority value.  I then assign the promotion to the couponPromotionRuleGroup.  Now I am ready to edit the conditions and actions. I drag the “Coupon code” as the first condition Select the prepared coupon as the qualifying coupon.   Then I drag “Cart total” as my second condition.                                                    And specify the amount that I planned.   Please note, any condition can be used together with the coupon code and this demo is just an example.  Now I move to the actions tab, I drag the “Free gift” as my action.  Then I choose the free product for the action.   Finally, I fill the Message field for the promotion fired message on the cart page.  As a good practice, I am using the unique identifiers to complete the message.   I save my changes and publish the promotion.  Now it’s time to test the promotion.  I navigate to the composable storefront, find a product which is more expensive than 100 dollars and add it into the shopping cart.   I’ll input the coupon code and apply it.   There you go, my promotion is fired, and I get a gift by redeeming a coupon.  And remember, I can also undo the coupon redemption by simply clicking here.   That’s it for a simple demo for creating a coupon-based promotion.  Thank you for watching.
