SAP SuccessFactors Integrating Assessment Vendors -- Test APIs

Hi, and welcome to this series from SAP Partner Engineering. My name is Julie, and in this series of videos, we're going to take a look at another scenario for the recruiting module of SAP SuccessFactors, in this case, for assessment vendors. In our first couple of videos, we took a look at setting up our assessment vendor, the vendor package, and configuring our notification for our subscription to the event. And then in our second video, we took a look at the front-end components of it, where we set up our new job requisition that had our assessment event added to it. And we updated a candidate email to have a link for the candidate to see that they needed to do an assessment. Finally, we walked through actually applying for a job and seeing how all those things look for the applicant candidate. Finally, in this last video, we're going to take a look in mailman at the APIs that we're using and check a couple of calls to see what kind of information we're sending back and forth and do a little bit of troubleshooting. Okay, so go ahead and open up our mailman and let's just start a new collection and we'll do this success factors assessment vendor APIs. And then we can go ahead and put in our authorization at the parent level as our admin and then our company number and then our password so we'll go ahead and create that. And then we're going to create a couple of requests. So the first request we're going to get, we're going to go back to our documentation. And we can look at the job application assessment order. So this is in our setup guide that you would have downloaded from the website. And we can take a look at doing some of these tests. So the first one we're going to do is we're going to do a get, and we can just copy and paste that URL into our get statement, and then we can check our authorizations once again for these APIs, we want to use basic authentication. Okay, so let's go back to the parameters and then we can choose to send. So this is sending the request and is going to come back with information about our job application. Now I got empty results and so to troubleshoot that I can look back in my code in my parameters and I see that it's filtering for the entity ID of 182 and what I can do to check whether that's legitimate number or not is I can go ahead and come back over into my admin center and I can look at my event log and open up my event and if I scroll down I see that my entity ID is actually 377 instead of 182 in the example so let's go ahead and go back into mailman and let's change that to 377 and let's go ahead and send. Looks like our filter is still too restrictive. The one thing we want to note is that OData does not allow a filter on the child identity so if you need to filter out certain locales you can add them to the filter. I'm just going to make my filter less restrictive. Go ahead and send and now we see our results. So we can go ahead and look in and we see that here's our first advantage, which is our vendor package. Here's the applicant information, et cetera. So that's our first one. In the first one, we see the applicant has received the assessment, and then the second one is to do a post, and if we go back to the document, and we scroll down, obviously we only had one applicant, but you would see a lot more information here if you had more than one applicant. Let's go ahead and copy this post statement into our URL and then in this one we want to go in and put in a little bit of code right here. Here we're doing an upsert to send back that order is in process and we'll go ahead and paste that into the body of our request. And so once we paste that in, we update our order ID, we have our authorization set, we can go ahead and click send. And we see the information about the assessment report. Okay, so the next one we want to do is, we're going to go back and do our last upsert to make sure that the assessment has been completed. So again, we can go ahead and copy and paste, change to post, want to make sure we have our authentication. We'll go back to the body and copy in our code. And we can just copy and paste from the document. Again, we want to remember to make sure that our order ID is correct, and we'll go ahead and press send, and here we see that the job application assessment order has been complete, which is our status zero. If we wanted to look for the other status that we want to use, we could go back to our document and we see here that status zero is complete. Status one is in progress, status two is initiated, etc. So we can send those records back in as we move through the stages. Okay, so that was a quick walkthrough on integrating the assessments. We started in the first video looking at our configuration in the back end of our vendor packages and our event notification. Then we took a look at creating our requisition template to add the assessment order. And tested our applicant workflow and in this final video, we just took a look at some additional testing and troubleshooting on what the API calls are actually doing to find more information on in grading with SAP solutions.
