To build a comprehensive architecture overview, you can add relations between Fact Sheets directly within SAP LeanIX.
1. Through fact sheets
Single Relation:
- Hover over the Relations section of the source Fact Sheet.
- Click the Add button and select the target Fact Sheet to create a link.
Multiple Relations:
- Click the three dots option next to the Relations section, then select Add with filters.
- Use the filters to define the scope of target Fact Sheets you want to link to the source Fact Sheet.
- Confirm to establish multiple relations at once.

2. Through in-line editing
- From the inventory, switch to Table View (Click the box icon at the top right).
- Filter by source Fact Sheet type (e.g., Applications).
- Click the eye icon at the top right to reveal additional attributes and relations.
- Search for the target Fact Sheet type to locates its relation section.
- Expand the relation attributes by clicking the three lines icon next to the target Fact Sheet type name, then select Display Name.
- Use the exposed column to search for link target Fact Sheets directly in the table.
3. Through excel sheet import/export
- Switch to Table View in the inventory
- Filter by source Fact Sheet type (e.g., Applications).
- Click the eye icon to expose additional attributes and relations.
- Locate and un-hide the relation section for the target Fact Sheet type.
- Click the three dots button at the top right of the table and select Export.
- In the exported Excel file, fill in the empty relation fields with the target Fact Sheet display names.
- Re-import the updated Excel file to establish relations in bulk.
Caution
When importing relations via Excel, always use the full Display Name of the target Fact Sheet. This includes the entire hierarchy path separated by slashes (e.g., Parent Folder / Subfolder / Fact Sheet Name) so SAP LeanIX can accurately identify and link the target Fact Sheet.
