Introduction to Global Account
In SAP's Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP), the concept of global accounts is central to managing resources, subscriptions, and entitlements across the platform. Let's delve into what a global account encompasses and how it functions within SAP BTP.

What Is a Global Account?
A global account in SAP BTP serves as a parent account that aggregates all the resources, services, and entitlements associated with a subscription. It acts as a central point from where administrators can manage various subaccounts and services.
Central Administration:
The global account allows for centralized administration and governance over all subaccounts and resources.
Subscription and Entitlements:
When you sign a subscription contract for SAP BTP, a global account is created for you. This global account encompasses all the entitlements (services and usage rights) associated with the signed contract.
Accessing the Global Account
Log in to SAP BTP Cockpit:
To manage your global account, log in to the SAP BTP Cockpit. It is the interface where you can access and administer your global account and its associated subaccounts.
View and Manage Entitlements:
The Entitlements section within the SAP BTP Cockpit gives you a comprehensive view of your available resources and their allocations to various subaccounts.
Entitlements: They represent the services and usage rights granted by your subscription contract.
Acquiring a Global Account
Subscription Process:
Contact Sales Representative: When you decide to subscribe to SAP BTP, you begin by contacting your SAP sales representative.
Contract and Creation: Upon agreeing to the terms and finalizing the contract, a new global account is created. This global account includes all the entitlements specified in your contract.
Introduction to Subaccount
In SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), subaccounts play a vital role in organizing and managing resources within a global account. Let's dive into how subaccounts function, how they can be managed, and a practical example relevant to training scenarios.

Understanding Subaccounts
Global Account and Subaccounts:
Global Account: The parent account that aggregates all resources, services, and entitlements.
Subaccounts: They are child accounts within the global account, used to organize and manage resources, applications, and services more effectively.
Viewing Subaccounts:
In the SAP BTP Cockpit, you can see the list of subaccounts under your global account.
For this training, as shown in the screenshot, you have one subaccount which you are actively using for training purposes.
Creating and Managing Subaccounts
Multiple Subaccounts:
A global account can contain multiple subaccounts, each tailored for specific projects, departments, or regions.
Administrative Privileges: Only users with administrative privileges can create and manage subaccounts.
Creating a New Subaccount:
Access Global Account: Navigate to the global account in the SAP BTP cockpit.
Add Subaccount: Select the option to create a new subaccount.
Specify Region: When creating a subaccount, it's required to specify the region (for example, Europe, Netherlands). It determines the data residency and compliance with local regulations.
Region Specification:
Selecting the appropriate region ensures that the subaccount complies with local data governance and performance requirements.
For instance, in your training scenario, you have specified Europe, Netherlands.
