Recalling Company Configuration setup

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to explain Company Configuration settings and their impact on the buyer organization.

Company Configuration Requirements

Before further exploring the details and purpose of the Configuration Mover functionality, it is important to dive a tad deeper into the configuration settings required for a buyer within SAP Fieldglass. As an initial implementation step, and prior to utilizing the application and any associated functionalities, each buyer organization within SAP Fieldglass is required to establish and enable their company setup that determines how their external workforce and operations will function within the system. While this step has traditionally been completed with assistance from SAP Fieldglass account or support teams, the self-service dashboard available to Configuration Manager users now allows for this activity to be performed in two distinct ways – firstly, via the Configuration Mover tile, which we’ll explain further in the units and lessons to come, and secondly – via the Company Configuration tile, which now reveals this setting that until now, was only available to SAP Fieldglass representatives. It should be noted that this new dashboard tile is still limited in the overall scope and available access to company, site and admin configs that can be utilized by Config Managers. Certain configuration settings will still require assistance from SAP Fieldglass support members to control and manage on the buyer behalf.

Company Configuration Categories

No matter the methods a buyer utilizes to implement their core company configuration, it is important to review and understand the sections available when these settings are enabled and their operational impact on a buyer organization. When a buyer initially enables their Company Configuration, there are literally hundreds of individual options and choices that need to be made. A number of these configurations are standard across all tenants, while some are also determined based on a customer’s contract and end user agreement, as well as their applicable purchased SKUs. Without going into detail on every available selection offered, the following table reflects the main categories of configuration elements seen within the Company Configuration object.

Description

1.Company: This area reflects all company level configurations items, such as setting default and supported languages, currency, time, date, and number formats, as well as SSO, login, and authorization setups for a buyer’s user population. This area also includes settings for approval chaining, MSP utilization and associated fee structures, user settings and access, account linking and delegate configuration, as well as security ID formats and requirements. This category is also the location to determine a buyer’s preference to use the PMO Dashboard, Rates version, Rate Guidance, Rules Engine, and other important functionalities like Purchase Unit, Legal Entities, Tenure Policy, and much more. Not all items listed within the dashboard under this category are unlocked and available for modification to a Config Manager user. Greyed out items would need further assistance from SAP Fieldglass representatives until made available in the dashboard for management.
2.Decision Form: The section of the Company Configuration lists the administrative objects within SAP Fieldglass that a buyer company can select for use with the wizard-based Decision Form functionality. A buyer can enable whether an interactive form would apply to the creation of an SOW, SOW Bid, Job Posting, Profile Worker, Project, or other modules associated to the service.
3.Job Posting: This category within the Company Configuration allows the buyer to manage all configurable aspects of the Contingent Job Posting, from the basic enablement of the functionality to the detailed settings and rules associated to the creation, approval, distribution, registration, engagement and activation of any hired Job Seekers submitted by the supply base. Buyers can also determine settings for Job Posting withdrawals, auto-closure, and replacements, along with usage of other functionalities like Shift Manager and Distribution Guidance.
4.Services: A single setting is reflected here, allowing a buyer to configure the use of fee pricing and rate support against various attributes on Statement of Work fees.
5.Statement of Work: An elaborate category of configurable items, this section covers off on the enablement and customization of Statements of Work within the SAP Fieldglass application. The buyer can configure settings on Parent/Child SOWs, the use of SOW workers, Copy SOW, as well as rules on SOW revisions, edits, and the activation and registration of SOW and SOW workers. Rules around auto registration are defined here, and further settings regarding end and closure dates and practices are also maintained. Buyers can also confirm the use and association of cost centers and job codes to Profile Workers. (This configuration is tied to the buyer contractual agreement within SAP Fieldglass)
