- Set Up Warehouse Layout
To set up the warehouse layout, users can utilize the Manage Warehouse Layout app to view and manage layout information.
To set up a warehouse, below apps can be used which are accessible via the Manage Warehouse Layout app:
- Manage Warehouse Attributes: To define warehouse attributes for a warehouse.
- Manage Storage Areas: To create storage areas for the warehouse. Storage areas are used to organize the different areas in a warehouse such as receiving area, picking area, storing area etc.
- Manage Storage Bins: To create storage bins manually or via upload.
- Manage Fixed Bin Assignments: To assign products to storage bins. This will be used in inbound and outbound to automatically determine the suitable storage bin and stock.
- Manage Packing Work Centers : Used to create packaging work centers and respective bins for your warehouse.
- Manage Work Queues: This app is used to create, edit, and delete work queues. Work queues are used to distribute workload within the warehouse to be processes by a specific operative or a group of operatives. Individual warehouse tasks or bundles of warehouse tasks that have similar attributes and that are to be processed by a specific operative or group of operatives based on those attributes.
- Manage Carrier Number Pools:This app is used to define a set of external numbers, the carrier reference numbers, that can be used to identify business objects such as consignments or freight.
- Manage Pickup Schedules :This app is used to create, change, and delete pickup schedules for your carriers to organize regular pickups. Typically, you have a contractual agreement with your carriers to specify how often and at what times a vehicle arrives at one of your locations to pick up goods. A pickup schedule represents this agreement, allowing you to define the weekly recurrence and specific pickup times. Based on a pickup schedule, documents for each pickup are created.
- Manage Consolidation Cutoffs :
This app is used to define a weekly recurring deadline after which the consolidation phase for a consignment ends and no additional transportation requests can be assigned. The system applies a business rule, CONSOLIDATION_CUTOFF_SCHEDULE_DET_V1, to determine the consolidation cutoff in relation to the transportation planning date (TDDAT) set in the outbound delivery in SAP S/4HANA and assigns transportation requests to a consignment with a matching consolidation cutoff or creates a new consignment.
A scheduled job runs every 15 minutes to check if a consolidation cutoff has been reached, and once it has, the relevant consignment is completed for automatic assignment, and the carrier determination is triggered.
Users can manually close the consolidation phase earlier than the scheduled consolidation cutoff by choosing complete consolidation in the Manage Consignments app.
