Introducing Budget Items

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to explain the purpose of budget items.

Basics of Budget Items

You can add a budget item to define a budget, including fiscal year, budget owner, budget name, and budget display name.

The image shows a screenshot of a budget item titled 2024 Budget, owned by Budget Owner, set for the fiscal year 2024, currency US Dollar. The form includes several tabs for additional options like Budget Details, Budget Tracking Fields (optional), Manage Viewers (optional), Manage Approvers (optional), Filter by Managers (optional), and Adjustments. The budget details indicate a fiscal period of 2024 with a $5,000 amount, marked as Active and Open.

Once you configure the Budget Type in the budget items, these budgets appear listed in the Budget Overview and Details of the Budget Dashboard.
