Searching for Clauses

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to search for clauses in the Clause Library and contract workspaces.

Clause Search

SAP Ariba Contracts provides users with flexible search options to locate contract information in the repository, including the ability to search for a clause within a specific workspace, templates, or the Clause Library.

Searching the Clause Library

You can search for a clause within the Clause Library if you have permission to view the Clause Library. Navigate to the Clauses tab and choose Actions→Search. On the resulting Search Documents page, you can enter values in the various search fields.

One search criteria field is Title, where you can enter any portion of the clause title to locate relevant clauses.

Another field is Keywords. Enter one or more words to search across titles, attributes, and content. This field also supports free-text searches within specific document types.

Alternatively, users can search for clauses directly on the dashboard by choosing the Contract Clause as the Document Type in the SAP Ariba dashboard search bar.

Clause Use

Users can search for clauses to verify where they have been used. This allows them to see which templates and contract workspaces use a specific clause, including the section in which it appears.

Procedure

Follow the steps below to search where clauses are used thoroughout the SAP Ariba Contracts application.

Navigate to the Clause Library.
Select the clause name and choose Actions→Search Where Used on the Clauses tab. (as shown on step one in the screenshot below)
A Search page opens.
Specify search options. By default, the search displays only projects where the clause is used, but you can widen the search to include templates by selecting Templates for the Display only option. (as shown by step two in the screenshot below)

You can also enter project title words or keywords to narrow the search results.
