What is Joule?

Joule is integrated into all major SAP applications and accessible with a single click. It supports more than 1,800 skills that interact with SAP applications through a conversational interface for authorized users and covers about 80% of the most frequently used transactions.

Joule for Business

Each Joule skill represents a task you can ask Joule to complete for you – from entering time off, to managing outbound deliveries – with a goal to make every end user 30% more productive. Customers are also empowered to create custom Joule skills for any application via Joule Studio in SAP Build.

Joule for Consultants and Developers

Joule is also available for Developers and Consultants to provide on-demand assistance for the design, implementation, and customization of SAP solutions.

Joule Agents

Joule also orchestrates intelligent agents across business functions, breaking down silos and driving real-time, cross-enterprise optimization.

We have continuously improved our UI to better meet our customers' needs.

Joule is SAP’s new UI for AI, designed as an experience layer that changes the way people perform tasks in business. Joule is accessible from everywhere, on the web and mobile to converse with the system in many different languages across your entire landscape and to give instant feedback on prompt results.

Integration with WalkMe

Organizations store data not only within SAP systems, but also across various non-SAP platforms. Joule provides support for managing and utilizing data from both SAP and non-SAP sources.

For Joule to create business value, it must work together with other systems or organizations instead of functioning on its own. That is why customers can access Joule from any application to get guidance on everything, everywhere, with the help of WalkMe. This integration expands Joule’s reach beyond SAP Business Suite, so it is always right by our customers’ side, giving Joule the transparency to see what customers see.

Joule can follow business users across SAP and third-party systems, using context from active applications to connect data, surface insights, and streamline workflows. For example, in the ServiceNow browser, users can access the new Joule action bar at the bottom of the screen, which is powered by WalkMe.

Integration with Microsoft 365 Copilot

In addition to WalkMe integration, Joule is available in Microsoft 365 Copilot, allowing employees to use either Joule or Microsoft 365 Copilot to perform tasks and access data across SAP and Microsoft systems. This allows Microsoft 365 users to access SAP tasks and data via Joule, and enables SAP application users to use Joule for obtaining Microsoft 365 information and workflows. This two-way integration allows employees to work in the environment most effective for the task at hand, helping to ensure they have everything they need to get their work done efficiently.

Joule's Omnipresence

If Joule is everywhere, it should be able to answer anything. Joule already provides answers across customers' structured and unstructured data, from procurement to policies.

To enhance its AI and search capabilities further, SAP collaborated with Perplexity. Together, they combine SAP's business data with Perplexity's ability to provide accurate and real-time answers, integrating structured and unstructured data. With SAP Business Data Cloud, SAP Knowledge Graph, and Perplexity's integration, Joule can seamlessly merge internal business data with real-world insights, delivering intelligent answers in real time.
