Adding the Details to the Job Posting

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to enter the data that sets the foundational details of a Job Posting.

The Job Posting Details Page

The Job Posting creation progress bar trail showing the Setup, Details, Augment, and Review and Submit phases of Job Posting creation. The Details indicator is highlighted in blue indicating that the second step in the process is currently being performed.

The first step in the process of creating a job posting is to select the job posting source template. Once selected, the actual Job Posting creation begins in the SAP Fieldglass application. The first page in the process after template selection is the Details page. It is here that the job posting creator will populate the master data and baseline parameters for the worker request.

The Job Posting Details page requires that information such as start and end dates, the site, location, business unit, and cost center be input.

A detailed description of the job can also be entered which, while optional, is encouraged. Detailed job descriptions provide suppliers with a clearer understanding of job requirements which allows them to better align their job seekers to the job requirements.

Set Up a Job Posting

WorkingNet Networking, Inc., a global manufacturer of data networking equipment, is building several new distribution centers in several countries, while simultaneously implementing new logistics software and processes. The new logistics processes will require WorkingNet's accounting methods to be revised.

To help transition to the new software and the revised accounting methods, Melanie, the manager of the finance department at WorkingNet, needs to procure several accounting clerks for the six-month period in which the software is being configured and implemented. Each new hub location will require at least one accounting clerk.

One of the new hubs is being built in a suburb of Atlanta, so an accounting clerk needs to be procured for their Atlanta office.

Melanie has already completed step 1 of the job posting creation process by selecting the appropriate job posting template. Now she can fill out the initial foundational data for the Contingent procurement request on the Details page.

Follow along as she performs the second step of the four-step contingent procurement process in SAP Fieldglass to hire an accounting clerk for the Atlanta office: adding the details to the job posting.
