Creating Work Orders

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to create a Work Order to hire a selected job seeker.

Work Orders

Once a decision is made to hire a particular job seeker, SAP Fieldglass then creates the Work Order which reflects the agreed upon details of the contingent assignment. A work order, therefore, is a binding document and dataset that contains all necessary information for a specific contract between the buyer and supplier. Work orders can be created either by the hiring manager or the PMO.

The option to create a work order appears immediately after a job seeker is selected for hire.

The Create Work Order page, which appears when a worker is selected for hire. It's divided into sections displaying details such as the work order owner, business unit, site, and location, with a required field to input an HR ID, as well as a section for the Work Order Dates, including the start date, duration, and time sheet start date.

Create a Work Order

Melanie, the manager of the finance department at WorkingNet Networking, Inc., a global manufacturer of data networking equipment, created a job posting to procure an accounting clerk for a six-month period at their Atlanta office. Their supplier, FinanceHire, has supplied a number of candidates, and Melanie has selected one to hire: Gabriel.

WorkingNet has the PMO Assisted workflow enabled, so now Mateo, from WorkingNet's Program Office, will create the Work Order for Gabriel. Follow along as he does that.
