Augmenting the Job Posting

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to enter the data that sets the operational requirements of a Job Posting.

Augmenting the Job Posting

The Job Posting creation progress bar trail showing the Setup, Details, Augment, and Review and Submit phases of Job Posting creation. The Augment indicator is highlighted in blue indicating that the third step in the process is currently being performed.

The first and second steps in the process of creating a job posting are, respectively, to select the job posting source template and enter the foundational details of the position being posted. Once those details are added, the next steps are to enter the operational requirements of the position, such as rate details, worker qualifications, and supplier distribution rules.

These details are entered on what is called the Augment page.

A Job Posting Augment page showing the summary tab, which provides a snapshot overview of the posting, including sections listing items to complete, rates, job details, and accounting information. Tabs providing more detailed information for Details, Job Seekers, Rate Details, Rules, Distribution, Supplier Rates, Interviews, Approvals/Audit Trail, and other Related data are also available.

Depending upon an organization's job posting workflow, this step of the job posting creation process may be restricted to a PMO user as the data required is more comprehensive. This configuration is called the PMO Assisted workflow. Under this configuration, the job posting creator is only required to complete the first two steps of creating a job posting; the Program Management Office would then augment and review the job posting.

WorkingNet Networking, Inc., a global manufacturer of data networking equipment, is building several new distribution centers in several countries, while simultaneously implementing new logistics software and processes. The new logistics processes will require WorkingNet's accounting methods to be revised.

To help transition to the new software and the revised accounting methods, Melanie, the manager of the finance department at WorkingNet, needs to procure several accounting clerks for the six-month period in which the software is being configured and implemented. Each new hub location will require at least one accounting clerk.

One of the new hubs is being built in a suburb of Atlanta, so an accounting clerk needs to be procured for their Atlanta office.

Melanie has already completed both steps 1 and 2 of the of the job posting creation process by selecting the appropriate job posting template, as well as completing the foundational details of the job posting.

Since WorkingNet has the PMO Assisted workflow configured, the job posting now moves to Mateo, a member of WorkingNet's PMO, who focuses on contingent and services procurement.

Follow along as Mateo performs the third and fourth steps of the four-step contingent procurement process in SAP Fieldglass: adding the operational information, then reviewing and submitting the job posting.

AI Recommended Elements on the Job Posting

In the simulated Job Posting reviewed in this lesson, Qualifications were not specifically addressed as needing definition or change on the requisition. However, when creating a Job Posting in SAP Fieldglass, buyers who want to focus a requisition on skills rather than experience can use the "Recommend Qualifications/Skills" feature within the Qualifications section of the template. This AI-driven capability reviews the Job Posting title and description and suggests relevant qualifications from the customer's predefined library. Using this feature can help reduce JP creation time while also improving accuracy by clearly defining the required skills.

Summary

After the details are entered for the job posting, you would enter operational requirements like rate details, worker qualifications, and distribution rules on the Augment page.

Key Points:

  • Augment Page: Provides a summary of the posting and detailed tabs for various components, such as rates, job details, and accounting information.
  • Reviewing the Job Posting: After augmenting, the creator or PMO reviews the information for accuracy.
  • Submitting the Job Posting: Once reviewed, the job posting is submitted for further approvals and distribution to suppliers.
  • PMO Assisted Workflow: The augmenting step may be restricted to PMO users, with the job posting creator responsible for initial setup and details only with the PMO then completing the creation process.
