Replacing a Worker

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to replace an assigned contingent worker with another worker in SAP Fieldglass.

Replacing Workers

Program teams may in some cases need to close and replace a worker simultaneously. The process is similar to closing a worker but includes the added step of a new job posting generated by the application automatically, mirroring that which the original worker was hired against.

A worker record showing the Close Worker modal window. The window contains a Reason field from which must be selected a reason for closing the worker; an End Date field where the worker's actual end date must be entered, and a comments section where optional notes can be entered.

Replace a Worker

Melanie, the manager of the finance department at WorkingNet Networking, Inc., a global manufacturer of data networking equipment, hired Darrin Dodge to be an accounting clerk for a six-month period at their Atlanta office. Unfortunately, Darrin never showed up.

She therefore needs to replace the worker as soon as possible. Follow along as she replaces Darrin in SAP Fieldglass.

The Replace Worker functionality must be selected instead of Close Worker to utilize this feature. If the worker is already closed, they cannot then be replaced in SAP Fieldglass. The replace functionality is only available on open worker records.

Summary

A worker can be replaced by closing the original worker's record in SAP Fieldglass, triggering a new job posting to be created automatically.

Key Points:

  • Process: Replacing a worker is similar to closing but includes generating a new job posting automatically.
  • Automatic Job Posting: The application mirrors the original job specifics for the new posting.
  • Reason for Replacement: The reason for replacing a worker, such as 'No Call / No Show,' must be selected.
  • Time Sheet Deletion: Selecting 'No Show' deletes all time sheets associated with the worker.
  • Comments and Confirmation: Comments can be added, and the worker is closed after final confirmation.
