Exploring Job Posting Distribution Lists

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to explain how Distribution Lists dictate the supplier distribution process.

Job Posting Distribution Lists

A Distribution List is a structured list of suppliers who should receive job postings. The lists can contain a single or multiple suppliers who can be grouped by level of distribution.

Illustration representing how suppliers can be grouped according to criteria, such as IT or financial services. The groups represent distribution lists and illustrates job postings being sent from a buyer to the groupings of suppliers.

Distribution Lists can be configured across various labor types, suppliers, or business units, and include simple tiers or more complex rules for release and delivery to their supply base. Multiple lists can be assembled to distinguish suppliers by various criteria, such as suppliers who only provide IT workers or services, or those who provide financial services, and so on.

Distribution can be configured to be sent automatically upon approval of a job posting, or as a manual step, ensuring the PMO is able to control how and when the job posting is distributed to suppliers.

Supplier Tiers

Supplier Tiers specify when suppliers receive notification that a job posting is available for them to review and submit job seekers. They essentially identify when and if certain suppliers will have priority over others with respect to receiving job postings from the buyer.

Supplier tiers form part of the distribution list and are based on contractual terms that a buyer has with each supplier. For example, a buyer may have a primary agreement with an MSP supplier, which will receive job postings before any other supplier for a period of 72 hours.

After that 72 hours passes, other suppliers in the list will receive notification and can submit job seekers.

In this instance the field is locked on the job posting template, so the distribution list cannot be changed. Other fields include Maximum Submissions per Recruiter Supplier and Supplier Respond By Date.

Distributions Lists are independent data objects in SAP Fieldglass that allow buyers to collate suppliers based on certain criteria, such as suppliers for IT workers.
2The Level One tier displays the suppliers that are to receive the job posting first. The record for each supplier indicates how many job seekers they have submitted for review.

Summary

Job Posting Distribution Lists are structured lists of suppliers grouped by criteria (e.g., labor type, business unit). These can be associated to job postings so that the suppliers on the list will receive the job postings when they are approved for distribution.

Key Points

  • Supplier Tiers: Specify priority and timing for suppliers to receive job postings, based on contractual terms.
  • Tier-based Notification: Notifications are sent to suppliers in tiers, with prioritized suppliers receiving postings first.
