Completion Weights

Let's recap on the SAP LeanIX Meta model configuration. First let's explore the completion weights within the basic settings. Navigate to your profile, select administration and under basic settings open Meta Model configuration. Here, admins can modify the SAP LeanIX  Meta Model, which serves as the foundation of your workspace. SAP LeanIX provides default recommendations, but you can add, customize, or delete fact sheet types, and rearrange them using drag and drop. To adjust fact sheet types, click a fact sheet type, for example, application to edit. Modify default settings in the field section by clicking edit to change colors, hierarchy levels, or enable on-the-fly creation for creating fact sheets outside regular workflows. Admins can use translations to localize fact sheet types for five supported languages, English, German, Spanish, French, and Portuguese, and can manage translations for custom attributes. Adjust singular plural terms, for example, application and applications as needed. For accurate data governance, a proper completion weight set up is crucial. Completion weights are used to configure attribute weights for fact sheet completion scores. It indicates the completeness of stored data within that fact sheet. Adjusting them enables you to adapt the weight of an attribute. A higher value will contribute more to the completion score of the fact sheet. Setting the value to zero will ignore the attribute in the completion score calculation, marking it as optional on the fact sheet. As an example, we want to ensure that each application fact sheet has at least a name, a description, and the life cycle defined. Therefore, we set all weights to zero except for name, description, and life cycle, which are set to one. This score displayed at the top of each fact sheet type is a crucial step towards achieving high data quality, and thus the entire workspace and is typically used as a metric or KPI for data quality across the entire workspace. To get an overview of the current state of the entire workspace, you can use the SAP LeanIX reports. As an example, open the application landscape report and change the view to completion to assess the data quality of your application landscape clustered by business capabilities. This view allows us to easily identify which applications need attention due to a low completion score. When we now switch to the AC management application fact sheet within the inventory, we can observe that the completion score is 25%, indicating that only the name is already set, but description and life cycle are currently missing. Upon adding this information, the completion score at the top will change to 100% according to our defined completion weight settings.
