Architecture decisions in SAP LeanIX allow you to document, track, and align enterprise architecture decisions directly within the platform. This feature addresses the common challenge of fragmented information spread across emails, spreadsheets, and disconnected tools, ensuring that critical decisions are centralized and easily accessible.

Admins of workspaces with SAP LeanIX Architecture and Road Map Planning can grant user roles permission to create decision records within the Architecture Decision section of the Collaboration tab. Key decision-makers, such as lead enterprise architects, can collaboratively review, approve, or reject decisions. Approved decisions provide a foundation for subsequent transformation initiatives, providing relevant context and outlining key details. These decisions can be linked to relevant fact sheets, ensuring that stakeholders across teams can easily access and understand key architectural choices.

To enhance consistency, SAP LeanIX provides default templates with a predefined structure for architecture decisions. Additionally, you can create custom templates tailored to your organization’s decision-making processes.
