Describing Measures and Uses

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to describe Measures and Uses.

Measures and Uses

Definition

Measures and Uses is a centralized planning tool for the Force Element. It is used to group several measure areas that contain changes to force elements, organizational structures, and object assignments that apply to the entire system.

Use

An organizational measure combines all changes with a common business focus that were performed during an organizational change, such as changes that were made collectively and for which the status is to be changed centrally. Individual measures are also available, in which specific users can update data and then change the status.

The Manage Measures app displays a read-only overview of open organizational and individual measures and the changes that were made using them for future reference. It is also possible to create an individual measure using the Manage Measures app and select existing measures.

The image depicts a flowchart showing a process related to maintaining and approving measures. It includes steps such as maintaining basic measure data, maintaining changes, submission for approval, reviewing the measure for approval, and activating the measure. The image also includes two icons representing people in uniform, likely indicating their involvement in the process.

Organizational measures are relevant for two different users in the system:

  • A user who creates organizational measures centrally and changes the status of organizational measures and measure areas
  • A user who performs day-to-day tasks in the system as defined by the organizational measure.

Organizational Management With Measures Workflow

The image depicts an organizational hierarchy with various roles and responsibilities. The top-level role is ADMIN, who is described as the Overall Responsible and maintains measures. Beneath ADMIN, there are roles such as Force Structure, Authorized Pers, Authorized Material, and Cost Accounting Res, each with associated responsibilities and work items.
