SAP S/4HANA Cloud - Service
When we refer to SAP S/4HANA Cloud in this course, we mean SAP S/4HANA Cloud, public edition. The various building blocks (scope items) that the solution has to offer are explained in the units in this course.
Exercises to further enhance knowledge of SAP S/4HANA Cloud and its functionality and to experience the service processes first hand are also provided. These exercises are based on (parts of) the test scripts for the various scope items, which can be found online using the SAP Best Practices Explorer at https://rapid.sap.com.
A note on localizations:
There are more than 45 different localizations (localized versions) of SAP S/4HANA Cloud - Service available. Examples include a German version (DE) and an American version (US). Almost every new release introduces new localized versions: release 2208 for example added four new localizations to the already extensive list that was available prior to this release.
Building blocks of the service solution
The SAP S/4HANA Cloud - Service solution supports the core business processes that you can find in a company in the area of Service Management. It consists of several building blocks (also called 'scope items'). Some of these building blocks are more administrative in nature (called Administrative ERP here) and others are more operational in nature (called Operational ERP here).
Within the Best Practices that SAP has defined for SAP S/4HANA Cloud (see https://rapid.sap.com and search for SAP S/4HANA Cloud), the scope items for the Service solution have been clustered into two main scope item groups. These are called Service Master Data & Agreement Management and Service Operations & Processes. The figure Building Blocks of the Solution shows which scope item belongs to which group.
Next to the scope items presented here, there are more (related) scope items that extend the core functionality of SAP S/4HANA Cloud - Service. An example is a scope item called Integration with Asset Central Foundation (3YE). This scope item describes the steps required to integrate SAP S/4HANA Cloud with asset central foundation, which is based on the SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP).
This scope item is currently not covered in detail in this course.

The blog called SAP S/4HANA Microlearning (OP/CL) – The ultimate collection contains an explanation of what SAP has to offer in terms of micro-learning knowledge bites. This blog contains many useful links to collections of these knowledge bites. Some knowledge bites related to SAP S/4HANA Cloud - Service are also available. Another useful source of information is the SAP S/4HANA Cloud Expertise Services community, which can be found here: https://expertiseservices.s4hanacloud.community.sap/groups/request_access/xBh6xD05hS5f7S1YhTLq8M.
This is a private implementation-focused group for partners of SAP and SAP internal teams.
The community exists to help scale SAP S/4HANA Cloud knowledge and experience to the wider community. Anyone belonging to the target audience can request to join and benefit from the shared knowledge that this community provides.
Different scope items supporting different service processes
A different way of structuring the above mentioned scope items is according to the type of service process that they support.
