Maintaining Condition Master Data for Pricing

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to Maintain Condition Master Data for Pricing.

Condition Master Data

Price management in SAP S/4HANA Sales determines the values in the sales process.

A sales representative, such as Sally, can influence the sales pricing.

From quotation to contract or order, from billing to accounting, all business documents share the same source for price information. In most cases, the pricing information in a sales document derives from the condition master data.

Watch the video to learn what to consider when maintaining condition master data.

Work through the demonstration to learn how to create a material price.

Understand Pricing in Sales

Within most sales documents, pricing is performed automatically in the SAP S/4HANA system (for example, the determination of relevant prices, taxes, and discounts). A complex set of regulations in the configuration of pricing controls define how automatic pricing is executed. Among other things, the system checks whether the relevant condition master records exist and copies the corresponding values into the sales document.

Note

Depending on the settings in the pricing and authorization, you may be allowed to change values manually within the sales document (for example, to grant the customer a higher discount).

Explore the possible results of automatic pricing in the figure below.
