  • Export data via file system and content network storage

General Information for SAP Sports One Reference Content

This lesson explains how data (folders, stories, models, and so on) can be exported. This is crucial for the integration of the SAP Sports One Reference Content. Besides this content, the data export/import can also be used to transfer files from one SAP Analytics Cloud instance to another.

This lesson will focus specifically on the export and import of data in connection with the SAP Sports One Reference Content:

As a starting point, it's important to note that the SAP Sports One Reference Content is imported into the XS05 folder on the customer systems. This public folder can be accessed via the path PublicXS05. This folder is only intended for importing SAP Sports One Reference Content. If end users want to customize and adjust these stories, which is more than applicable, a copy of the XS05 folder in the Public folder should be created. This ensures that these adjustments are not overwritten and, therefore, lost, when importing newer versions from SAP!

The XS05 folder for importing the SAP Sports One Reference Content has the following structure (Oct 24):

A file directory interface displays folders labeled Scouting, Medical, Team Management, Training & Performance, Match & Opponent Analysis, General Information, and NLZ, along with a file named SAP Sports One Cockpit v2. Each folder has a share icon next to it, and the SAP Sports One Cockpit v2 file has a star icon.

Following this general introduction and recommendations, the data export process is shown in the following lesson. As already mentioned, we use the functionalities of the Content Network Storage to export data.

Exporting Data via Content Network Storage

For the export via Content Network please follow these steps:

  • Select TransportExport
  • Select Content Network Storage
  • Select + New Export
  • Select the data to be exported (in our example: XS05Next

Your data export could look something like this:

The image shows the SAP Analytics Cloud interface, specifically the Transport/Export section, where users can select and manage various object types such as files, dimensions, roles, and teams. The screen displays a list of stories with details like name, description, type, creation date, modification date, and dependencies.

Once the files to be exported have been selected, the export package properties are entered. This includes the name, descriptions, details, category, and location.

The image shows a Package properties form with fields for Name, Description, Details, Category, and Location. The Name is set to Export_XS05, the Description is Reference Stories SAP, and the Category and Location are set to My Content.

After selecting the data to be exported and entering the package properties, it's important to enter the URL of the target systems to which the data is to be exported. This is done in the next step as follows:

  • Select + Add Destination.
  • Select the destination type (System) and the landscape (EU10).
  • Enter the system URL.
  • Select access type (View, Edit, Import, Delete).
  • Add system as a destination.
The image shows a user interface for adding system destinations, with options to select destination type, landscape, and system URL. Below, there is a section displaying added destinations with their access levels.

Once you have checked your export settings, please Export. Your export file will then be available in the Content Network Storage. Once you've selected your export in the Content Network Storage, you can select Share at any time to make changes to the destination.

Toolbar with various icons including refresh, add, share, edit, delete, and search functions. The share icon is highlighted in yellow.

By following these guidelines, we successfully exported the SAP Sports One Reference Content and made it available for import. In the next lesson, we'll explore how to import this data into our target system.
