Providing Overview of Existing Data

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to provide an Overview of Existing Data

Existing Data

Before you start implementing your club’s requirements in an SAP Analytics Cloud story, it can be advantageous to know which data is available in each individual data model. For this purpose, SAP Analytics Cloud offers the Data Analyzer. As an integrated part of SAP Analytics Cloud, you can find the Data Analyzer in the side navigation on the SAP Analytics Cloud start page.

To access an overview of your existing data, select Data Analyzer from the side navigation panel. Choose From an Existing Model to create an analysis based on a model. The Select Data Set or Model dialog opens where you can search for or open an existing model in the files folders of your choice.

After selecting a specific model, you can view the measures and dimensions of the model in this overview. Here, you can easily filter your SAP Sports One data by selecting measures and dimensions or by creating individual measures directly using the panel on the right side. Please note that the creation of calculations will be covered later in this unit. By selecting one of the icons displayed right beside the dimension, you can depict these dimensions in the rows or columns. Your existing data will be updated automatically on the left-hand side in the displayed table.

The image shows a data analysis interface with sections for Available Objects and Builder. The Available Objects section lists Measures and Dimensions, while the Builder section allows users to configure Rows and Columns for a table display.

In Data Analyzer you have different options to export data from your table. To start exporting your table data, choose Export from the toolbar, and select the export option.

The image shows the SAP Data Analyzer interface with options to export data in Excel, CSV, or PDF formats. The export options are accessible via a drop-down menu.

Additionally, you can save the current Data Analyzer view for this model. The created Insight can be used later to directly reopen the saved view. This saves time and makes it easier to quickly analyze your SAP Sports One data.
