<div id="content"><p tabindex="0">When integrating SAP Sustainability Data Exchange with SAP Business Network, you can leverage a common registration, profile, and invitation process to seamlessly connect with trading partners using the network’s directory. This allows you to efficiently search for and engage with partners who support SAP Sustainability Data Exchange capabilities.</p><p tabindex="0">You also benefit from the global reach of SAP Business Network, through which nearly $6 trillion in annual commerce is conducted using more than 750 million transactions. Getting Started with SAP Sustainability Data Exchange

Sustainability is a strategic imperative for many of our customers. We at SAP want to help our customers get full visibility into their product emissions and help to achieve their decarbonization goals. Through a seamless integration between SAP Sustainability Data Exchange with SAP Business Network, we streamline the supplier onboarding process as well as enable the exchange of carbon footprint information between trading partners. As a sustainability expert at S4 Atlantics, I log into the trading partner portal and want to get visibility into the relationships with my suppliers and other trading partners. In the relationship overview, I can filter for my laptop supplier tech expert and invite them to exchange sustainability information with me. I want to buy a big amount of their laptops and want to make sure that their carbon footprint is not impacting my sustainability goals. As soon as I add and confirm the new collaboration type, the supplier gets an email invitation via SAP Business Network. Now let's switch the role to the supplier. To establish a relationship with the buyer, there are only two things that the supplier needs to perform. Step 1. They need to get a peer ID from their SAP Sustainability Data Exchange application and store it in his trading partner profile. Step 2. Accept the trading partner relationship request. In the company profile overview in SAP Sustainability Data Exchange, the user can retrieve the peer ID for his tenant. This peer ID is used to establish the technical connection between the two SDX tenants. Afterwards, the supplier navigates to the relationship overview in SAP Business Network and accepts the pending request from his buyer S4 Atlantic. If the supplier is collaborating on SDX for the first time, the system will ask for the SDX peer ID. As soon as this is provided, the connection is fully established. The supplier is ready to collaborate via SAP Business Network. Now, let's switch back to the buyer's side. The buyer can monitor the status of the supplier invitation. Once the relationship is established, the buyer can send a sustainability footprint request for a laptop to their supplier, tech experts. This helps them to move from averages to actuals and achieve much higher transparency on scope three emissions and overall footprint information. The supplier receives the new request via the launch pad in SAP Sustainability Data Exchange. The user at the supplier side can easily navigate to the footprint request from their customer S4 Atlantic and share back the footprint information for the laptop by either retrieving new footprint information from sustainability footprint management or reusing an existing footprint record in SDX. The information is based on a standardized format in line with sustainability standards like WBCSD-Pact standard. The customer immediately receives the calculated footprint from this supplier and can leverage this actual footprint information for their own PCF assessment.
