Group Reporting Validation and Substitution

Group reporting validation and substitution apply to group journal entries, file imports and data release and ensure data completeness and correctness of data.

They can be used to automatically fill fields or to substitute or validate field values, depending on defined preconditions and rules.

Validations check the values entered for the relevant fields or functions defined in the group reporting validation rules.

This screenshot shows the validation screen in the Manage Substitution/Validation - Journal Entries app.

When a value entered doesn't comply with the rule, a warning or an error message can be raised which helps to correct the values entered if necessary.

A substitution derives, replaces, or clears values for the relevant fields or functions defined in the substitution rules.

The substitutions take place at the time of data entry with no system messages.
