Setting Up the Manage Approvers (optional) Tab

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to set up the optional Manage Approvers tab.

Introduction

The Budget feature includes an option to add a Budget Approver step to the workflow. A Budget Approver approves the spend that will consume budgets.

Assigning someone as a Budget Approver also allows the approvers without this role to view budget links when approving expenses. Even if they do not use the budget approver step, access to budget details helps them understand the transactional impact of their approvals.

Caution

Before setting up this tab, make sure the Budget Approver/Manager role is assigned to anyone who needs to approve budgets. Note that delegate approvers cannot act as budget approvers.

How to Set Up the Manage Approvers (optional) Tab

Follow these steps to assign a Budget Approver. We'll walk you through each part of the process, complete with detailed instructions and screenshots to help you along the way.

Steps

  1. On the Budget Items tab, select an existing budget item. Choose Modify. The Modify Budget Item window appears.

  2. On the Modify Budget Item window, select the Manage Approvers (optional) tab. The Manage Approvers (optional) page appears.

  3. Type the first three letters of the user's name to find and select one or more assigned approvers. Select the user.

  4. Choose Save to apply these changes.
