Angular 19 Update for SmartEdit

Angular has been upgraded from 17 to 19. Ensure that you test your SmartEdit customizations to verify that they work with Angular 19.

Added Page Lock Workflow Template in SmartEdit

The page lock workflow template allows SmartEdit users to lock the content of CMS pages from being edited by other SmartEdit users.

Why?

By implementing the page lock workflow, SmartEdit blocks other users from editing items on the locked page and allows you work more efficiently.

Enhanced Page View in SmartEdit

Customize your page view according to your preferences with the enhanced page view in SmartEdit. You can now show and hide columns, reorder columns, sort columns, change column width, and define the number of items to be displayed per page.

Why?

The enhanced page view in SmartEdit enhances user experience by allowing users to customize their page view according to their preferences. Additionally, it streamlines workflows and boosts productivity by facilitating more effective access and interaction with data.

Enhanced Preview of Content Catalog Version in SmartEdit

The Preview Selector has been enhanced to support previewing content catalog versions for selected user groups.

Why?

By enabling SmartEdit users to preview content catalog versions for specific user groups, you ensure that customers within those groups see precisely the content you intend for them to view. This enhancement not only enhances the user experience but also boosts customer satisfaction.

Feature Activation

If you're running a version prior to 2211-jdk21.3, this feature is deactivated by default. To activate it, see Activating Enhanced Preview of Content Catalog Version in SmartEdit.

Added Help Icon and Rearranged User Profile in SmartEdit

The help button, which links to the SmartEdit documentation on the Help Portal, has been added to the shellbar in SmartEdit.

Language, Appearance, and Configuration buttons have been moved to User Profile.

Language has been moved from Shell Bar to Shell Bar > User Profile > Settings.

Appearance has been moved from Shell Bar > User Profile to Shell Bar > User Profile > Settings.

Settings has been renamed to Configuration and moved from Shell Bar to Shell Bar > User Profile > Settings.

Why?

The help button provides end-users with easy access to the Help Portal documentation, making it more convenient for users to find the information they need.

The rearrangement of the UI buttons helps the end-user work more efficiently.

Implemented Content Security Policy (CSP) in SmartEdit

CSP is implemented in SmartEdit to specify the resources permitted to load.

Why?

The implementation of CSP in SmartEdit improves security and reduces risks.

Feature Activation

If you're running a version prior to 2211-jdk21.3, this feature is deactivated by default. To activate it, see Activating Implemented Content Security Policy (CSP) in SmartEdit.

WalkMe Integration with SmartEdit

WalkMe is now integrated into SmartEdit, allowing for on-screen user guidance, assisting users in navigating through complex workflows. New content will be incrementally added and released as it becomes available.

WalkMe in SmartEdit is disabled by default. For more information on enabling WalkMe, see Enabling WalkMe.

Why?

The on-screen user guidance decreases the learning curve, reduces errors, and boosts user productivity, ultimately enhancing the overall user experience.
