Introducing the Order Management User Interfaces

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to recognize the user interfaces relevant for Order Management in SAP Commerce Cloud.

Introducing the Order Management User Interfaces

We’ll start by introducing Jet, the Warehouse Administrator responsible for making sure the order fulfillment process works smoothly.

An illustration of Jet, the Warehouse Administrator, representing the user persona for order fulfillment and warehouse management tasks.

There are two user interfaces Jet uses in his day-to-day work processing orders, and this lesson guides you through these interfaces tailored to the different roles involved in the order management process. These interfaces offer the tools and information necessary to manage orders efficiently from placement to fulfillment.

Depending on the user roles of a logged in user, Order Management uses the following perspectives:

1. Backoffice Administration Cockpit

The Backoffice Administration Cockpit (1) allows warehouse administrators like Jet to manage different configurations and fundamental setup tasks required for effective order management. It's here under Base Commerce (2) that Jet can set up new warehouses to hold stock or Points of Service (POS), in other words stores, to sell products from, and much more. To define how stock is sourced from different warehouses when an order is fulfilled (Sourcing Configuration), or to set how available stock is calculated (Availability to Promise Formulas), Jet can go to Order Management (3).

Of the standard Order Management users provided with SAP Commerce Cloud, only the Warehouse Administrator has access to the Backoffice Administration Cockpit. Jet can sign in as this user using the user WarehouseAdministrator.

2. Backoffice Order Fulfillment Cockpit

The Backoffice Order Fulfillment Cockpit is designed to streamline the tasks needed to fulfill orders. Jet and his warehouse staff can use it to print pick slips to gather items for an order, create shipping labels, or print return labels (1). They can also confirm that they have sent out consignments (2). Warehouse staff can also search for warehouses and POS (3), view and edit inventory information to keep stock levels accurate (4), and accept returned goods sent back by customers (5).

Apart from the WarehouseAdministrator, SAP Commerce Cloud comes with two more users that have access to the Order Fulfillment Cockpit: the WarehouseManager and WarehouseAgent.
