Defining Time Sheet Rate Groups

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to Navigate a Time Sheet Rate Group admin object and explain what it represents in SAP Fieldglass..

Time Sheet Rate Group

A Time Sheet Rate Group is used to organize similar rates into groups for use on time sheets.

For example, you can group certain rates together and classify them as overtime or standard time based on the amount of time worked in a week, or the time of day that a shift was worked. Additionally, you can use a time sheet rate group as a rate rule definition variable to determine the behavior of a particular group of rates.

Time sheet rate groups are optional, but you must select one when creating a rate, so a default rate group is created when a tenant is created in SAP Fieldglass.

As illustrated here, WorkingNet created two additional time sheet rate groups to track any overtime worked on the two new shifts it created for the new customer service positions.

A time sheet rate group record requires few characteristics, consisting of just a code, a name, and an optional description of the data record. Since it’s a data object that is used primarily to establish associations, the associations tree displays the important information about the group. For time sheet rate groups, the Rate and Time Sheet Allotment associations are key.

Both rates and time sheet allotments are associated when those respective data objects are created.
