Defining System Groups and Permissions in Product Sourcing

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to define the different system groups and permissions in the product sourcing functionality.

System Groups

Groups grant users access to functionality in SAP Ariba Strategic Sourcing Suite and product sourcing. Each group has a group description that lists the functionality available for members of that group. You view group descriptions in SAP Ariba Administrator.

The following product sourcing groups are available in SAP Ariba Strategic Sourcing Suite:

Materials Administrator: Members of this group can upload master data, and configure PIR integration.
Materials Manager: Members of this group can view all materials and BOMs on the Product Sourcing dashboard. They can assign contract manufacturers, programs, and owners to BOMs. They can also enter estimated pricing and split percentages for the items they are the owner.
Materials Viewer: Members of this group can view all materials and BOMs on the Product Sourcing dashboard. They can also enter estimated pricing and split percentages for the items they are the owner.
Item 360° Viewer: Members of this group can view item 360° without using the Product Sourcing dashboard.

Additionally, to create quotes, you must be a member of one of the system groups providing event creation capabilities, such as: Junior Sourcing Agent, Procurement Agent, Commodity Manager.
