As covered in ARS111 Creating Sourcing Events within SAP Ariba Guided Sourcing, event rules control how the event works and depend on several factors, such as event type, values from other rules, and template delegation settings.

Summary

Not all rules are applicable across all event types, and some rules are displayed in one event type but not in another.
Rules may be preset in the template and hidden from view in the event.
When administrators create a template, they can withhold control of a rule from the person who is using the template to create an event.
- Delegated: The ability to edit this rule is given to the project owner. They can view and modify the setting.
- Read only: Project owners can view this rule and its setting but can’t edit it.
- Hidden: Project owners can't see this rule or its setting.

Automatically Adding Preferred Suppliers

Configuring Automatically Add Preferred Suppliers

Buyers can view a supplier's qualification status based on region and commodity for an event, and automatically invite preferred suppliers to events or line items based on the commodity and region values specified during the event creation process.

Template Creator group members are able to automatically add preferred suppliers by following this procedure:

Before publishing the template, go to the Supplier Eligibility Criteria rules section.
Choose a supplier status from the Minimum supplier status for event participation pull-down menu.
Choose a supplier status from the Minimum supplier status for award eligibility pull-down menu.
Choose Event Level or Item Level from the Supplier qualification level pull-down menu.
Choose Invite to Event or Invite to Item from the Automatically invite preferred suppliers pull-down menu.
If you choose No, the preferred suppliers are not automatically invited.
If the Supplier qualification level is set to Event Level, you see choices for No and Invite to Event.
If the Supplier qualification level is set to Item Level, you see choices for No and Invite to Item.
Return to the template project page when you have configured the template fields as needed.
Choose Properties→Action→Publish
You can now create events with preferred suppliers automatically added at either the event or item level using the published template.

Note

To be able to configure automatic addition of preferred suppliers to events, SAP Ariba Supplier Lifecycle and Performance is required.

Summary

Supplier Qualification status is based on Region and Commodity fields.
Event Templates have a Supplier Eligibility Status event template rule that can be configured to automatically add preferred suppliers at the event level or item level.
