Examining the Event Template Summary Section

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to describe the actions within the Event Template Summary

Event Template Summary

About the Event Template Summary Tab

The event template Summary section is used to review the template settings.

The following actions can be taken in the Summary tab:

  • Edit Overview
  • View Publish Approval Task
  • View Team Grading Task
  • Customize Messages
  • Edit Graders' Weights

The Edit Overview page is where you can change the title and description that are set when the project is created. Most of the time, this information does not require editing, except when event templates are being copied.

When an event template is copied, the Name (green) is what you change in the "copy of x," box, but understand that an event template's document Title (red) is copied too, but these are not the same field.

An event template is open with the Name highlighted in green and the event document title in red.

If the Title (red) is not changed, this can cause confusion for template administrators who do not see their events in a Document Choice of a full project. If the copy is to be a part of a full project, the template creator will not be able to easily locate it because they are expecting the Name (green), and not the Title (red).

Another important Overview action is Customize Messages, which allows you to personalize standard notification messages and modify the subject line and content.

An event email template is being customized so that the message's text can be edited.

If the information looks correct and you do not need to take any further action, choose ExitReturn to project

Summary

  • The Edit Overview allows template owners to review and edit the information in the overview, the event messages, graders' weights, and view the event-specific tasks.
  • Be sure to change the Event template document's title that is found in the overview to not complicate event template selections set up through Document Choices.
