Adding and Editing a Statement Template

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to add and edit a statement template.

Reward Statement Templates

Rewards statements, also known as compensation statements, can be sent automatically to employees once the compensation planning is completed.

One way compensation statements are created is through the use of standard templates.

Standard Templates

  • Comes as a self-service, pre-configured statement layout
  • Available for Compensation, Variable Pay, and Combined (Combined templates allow for multiple data sources.)
  • Layout is not customizable, and does not support multi-language, logos, or graphics.
  • Limited conditional formatting
  • Respects the number format of recipient

A second option is completely customizing the statements to meet your organization’s need.

Custom Templates

  • Not included in a standard implementation and developed in a separate implementation project with Professional Services consultant and SF Premium Reporting Team
  • Supports multi-language (including right-to-left compliance) reward statements
  • Supports multi-currency and international date formats
  • Supports multiple logos or graphics
  • Supports multiple test messages based on conditional logic and any other format changes to standard template design

Adding a Standard Template

You can add new statement template to your instance that can then be used to generate statements. Many preconfigured templates can be downloaded from SuccessStore; in addition, you can import an existing template of your own.

To add a standard template from the SuccessStore:

  1. Open Compensation Home.
  2. Select Actions for All PlansManage Statement TemplatesAdd/Edit Statement Templates
  3. Select Add TemplateFrom SuccessStoreCompensation TemplateThe option to add a template from SuccessStore is highlighted.
  4. Select a template and select Add to my Instance.
  5. Make any modifications to the template.
  6. Select Save.

Note

The statement editing tool in the administrator interface only supports editing standard templates. Custom or imported templates can only be modified outside the system.

Working with Statement Templates

Once you have added a template, you can make a number of changes to it, including:

  • Adding a company logo from a URL
  • Adding sections and modifying existing sections
  • Adding literal text and compensation fields to a section
  • Add images and tables to a section
  • Add conditional fields and sections
  • Adding multiple languages to a single template

Once you have finished customizing a template, the Preview icon displays an example of a populated statement.

A completed compensation statement is highlighted.

Printing Statements

Compensation statements can be printed either as a separate PDF for each employee or as a single PDF for all employees. Planners can also print statements in bulk based on the user instead of the planner. This feature can be enabled through the following steps:

  • From Compensation Home, select Actions for All PlansCompany Settings .
  • Select the checkbox for Enable Employee-Level Target Population for Admin Bulk Print Statement.
  • Select Save.

Summary

  • Automatic Rewards Delivery: Once compensation planning is finalized, rewards statements can be automatically distributed to employees, enhancing transparency and efficiency in communication.

  • Standard Templates: These pre-configured templates offer a self-service setup for Compensation, Variable Pay, or Combined formats. They come with limitations, such as non-customizable layouts and restricted formatting options, yet respect recipient-specific number formats.

  • For a tailored approach, organizations can engage in a separate implementation project to create custom templates. These support multi-language, multi-currency, and diverse graphic integrations, providing flexibility through conditional logic and diverse formatting options.

  • Template Management: New templates can be added through the SuccessStore by navigating Compensation Home. Administrators can download, modify, and save preconfigured templates for statement generation, with custom templates requiring external modifications.
