Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to add a BWF System as a task provider in an embedded system

To Add a BWF System as a Task Provider

  1. Define trust between Gateway and the SAP system.

  2. Create an RFC destination to connect to the SAP system. If there is already an RFC connection, proceed with step 3. To create the RFC destination, perform the following steps 2a until 2h:

    1. Log on to the Gateway system.

      Note

      User credentials are required.
    2. Run transaction SPRO.

    3. Navigate to SAP Reference IMGABAP PlatformSAP GatewayOData ChannelConfigurationConnection SettingsSAP Gateway to SAP SystemManage RFC Destinations.

    4. Choose Create.

    5. Enter the following details:

      Enter a unique ID for the RFC destination

      Connection Type

      3 (ABAP connection)

    6. Select Load Balancing to yes and provide the following details.

      Msg. Serverserver name of the system
      Enter the group of the system 
    7. On the Logon & Security tab, enter the SAP system's client number, activate Current User, and for Trust Relationship choose Yes.

      Note

      Ensure that the trusted relationship for the system is created already.
    8. Save your settings and test the connection.

  3. Configure SSO using assertion tickets.

  4. Create an SAP system alias to be used by the Taskprocessing service. To create the SAP system alias:

    1. Navigate to SAP Reference IMGABAP PlatformSAP GatewayOData ChannelConfigurationConnection SettingsSAP Gateway to SAP SystemManage SAP System Aliases.

    2. Choose New Entries. Enter the following details for the system alias and then save your settings.

      Unique Name of the system alias

      Descriptive text for the system alias

      For Local App

      Check the box

      RFC Destination

      Specify the RFC destination defined for your SAP system

      Software Version

      For BWF : /IWPGW/BWF

    3. Save.

  5. Assign the SAP system alias to the Taskprocessing OData service. To do so:

    1. Navigate to SAP Reference IMGABAP PlatformSAP GatewayOData ChannelAdministrationGeneral SettingsActivate and Maintain Services.

    2. Click on the Filter icon and filter for External Service Name: Taskprocessing.

    3. Double-click Task gateway Service Version 2.0. You can see the system aliases added to this service.

    4. To add a new system alias, select Add System Alias.

    5. Click on New Entries. In the SAP System Alias field, provide the ID of the system alias that you want to add and press Enter.

    6. Save.

Add a BWF system as a task provider in a embedded System

Do the same configuration steps on your system and add a local RFC and System Alias.
