Discovering Product Structure Browser

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to discover the product structure browser

Product Structure Browser

You have created various master data in the system. From a logistical perspective, the material master is the central object within the process chain. Almost all the other master data is connected to the material master. You can call the objects up individually or use a tool that displays the relationship in a compact way that is easy to understand.

The graphical product structure browser is a central navigation and information tool. It displays a tree structure containing all the objects that belong together, such as materials, BOMs, documents, classes, characteristics, and routings.

The diagram shows a product structure tree. At the top is material, below are items such as Class, BOM, and Document.

You can call and change each of the objects from the browser. If you refresh the browser, you can see the changes immediately.

Using filters, you can limit the details of the data displayed according to the current processing situation.

Work with the Product Structure Browser

Introduction: Work with Product Structure Browser

A lot of master data was created for the forklift prototype T-F600. Each master data transaction can be used individually, but master data specialist Maria wants the existing object connections to be displayed in one screen.

Task 1: Work with the Product Structure Browser

Master data specialist Maria decides to use the Product Structure Browser with material T-F600. She is interested in all connected objects and wants to compare them at the end with another material.

Now, you have an impression of "Working with a routing".
