Introduction to Routings
After thinking about the material BOM and the necessary work centers for your forklift in the previous exercises, you are now thinking about WHO assembles it, WHERE, and HOW.
In the end, everything flows together in the routing.

A routing describes which operation process steps are carried out during the production of an assembly or a finished product, and in what order they take place. Along with these details, a routing contains information about the work centers, and the necessary production resources and tools, which are not normally available at this work center.
In addition, the standard values required to execute the individual operations are stored in the routing. Routings serve to plan the production of assemblies or finished products with regard to the necessary resources. Routings are used as a template for production orders and run the schedule headers.
