Checking Work Center Utilization

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to check Work Center Utilization

Assign Work Centers to Yourself

Before you can use the Resource Scheduling apps you must assign at least one work center to yourself. If your planning involves several work centers, you must assign each required work center to yourself.

These assigned work centers appear in the Resource Scheduling apps. You can visualize work center utilization and create and track schedules.

Also, if there is an overload for a certain work center you can move work to another work center by changing the work center of the corresponding operation.

Check Work load by Planned Dates of Maintenance Plan

The work load of orders which are called from a maintenance plan within preventive maintenance is considered by Resource Scheduling in the Chart View of app Resource Scheduling for Maintenance Planners.

In this case the work load for a work center is already displayed in the chart when the maintenance plan has been scheduled and shows a plan date with status Scheduled Hold. This means that the order does not have to be called. The only prerequisite is that a task list with operations containing a work has been assigned.

The work load of manually created orders is also displayed in the chart - depending on the assigned work in the operations.

Material Availability

Before you dispatch order operations or add order operations to your schedule, make sure that any required material components are available. You can easily check the material availability status in the resource scheduling apps.

The Material Availability Status shown in the resource scheduling apps is based on the material availability (system) status of the maintenance order. Keep in mind that this status is always shown at the level of the order header. This means that in the resource scheduling apps the same material availability status is shown for all operations of a maintenance order.

Note

To execute a material availability check, you use the relevant asset management apps (for example, the Schedule Material Availability Check app).

Two screenshots. The first shows where to select the Schedule Material Availability Check app to perform a material availability check. The second in the Manage Work Center Utilization screen for My RSH2 shows Display Material Availability Status in RSH.
