Editing Dashboards in SAP Ariba Strategic Sourcing

Today's video will take a look at how administrators and users can update dashboard preferences within ARIBA strategic sourcing. We will review how a user can personalize their portals and tabs to get the most out of their dashboard, and how a site's dashboard template can be changed from the standard layout. When logged into ARIBA, users will see a home tab and dashboard which contains information and links that can be used to perform tasks quickly. The page is organized by different tiles and portlets that can be moved, added, or personalized to the signed-in user. Dashboard templates typically include a set of tabs for displaying action tiles and organizing content items, such as calendars, to-do lists, searches, documents, and folders, and even reports by a functional area. The default configuration includes a standard default dashboard template and all users are initially based on this template so a lot of the commonly used tiles are standard and out of the box. Default portals like the to-do and my documents are helpful for individual users to see items that are pending their action or documents that they created directly. A user can personalize their screen by clicking and dragging the placement of tiles to change the tile layout between tabs or remove clutter by selecting the drop down in the top right corner to delete a tile if it is not in use. Additionally, the wrench icon allows personalizations by adding new custom tabs or content tiles per solution. Other options within this menu allow users to compare their settings against the default view and the option to refer back to the default settings if needed. In some cases, a user may use this menu to add something new like a report or restore a that they may have accidentally removed. Customers may choose to change at the dashboard template so that the home dashboard is more company-oriented. For example, companies may choose to include news sections that are free text and frequently updated by administrators. These news tiles could include links to other pages and internal websites or provide information such as support and help desk information. Some other examples of newly added content is frequent company reports for quick snapshots or reminders for expiring documents.
