To perform the demonstration, the user logs into SAP Digital Manufacturing and opens the Component Manufacturing Workcenter POD:

The system displays the following Production Operator Dashboard:

On the left, there are various buttons that trigger functions in SAP Digital Manufacturing (for example, choosing the Start button to start the SFC at the selected operation, Visual Inspection displays the visual inspection result, etc.). Next, the system shows a list of SFCs and their operations. On the right, the system shows additional information, such as work instructions, components for assembly, data collections, and so on.
Next, the operator scans their personal badge to confirm readiness for component manufacturing.

In the background, the SAP Digital Manufacturing system authenticates the operator and verifies, for example, whether they are qualified to perform component assembly. It then triggers the start of the manufacturing process. The system activates the "Pick by Light" solution, which provides guidance for the assembly steps.
The following business benefits are shown in this process step:
Operator Authentication: Ensures that only qualified and authorized individuals are executing the task, enhancing safety and compliance.
Skill Verification: Confirms that the operator has the necessary qualifications for component assembly, ensuring quality and reducing the risk of errors.
Process Automation: Automatically initiates the manufacturing process upon successful authentication, improving efficiency and reducing manual intervention.
Enhanced Traceability: Maintains a record of who performed each step, improving accountability and traceability of operations.
Operational Efficiency: Reduces downtime between steps with a quick and automated start to the manufacturing process, optimizing productivity.
