Completing Assembly and Processing Goods Receipt

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to complete component assembly to trigger goods receipt.

Completion of Assembly and Goods Receipt

Upon receiving a green result from the video inspection, the operator confirms the process by completing the visual inspection operation in the POD.

To complete the SFC at the final operation, the worker chooses the button Complete.

Then, the assembled control head is moved via robot to the area for good receipt at the upper right side of the work center.

The image shows how the robot moves the assembled control head from the assembly area to the final storage area at the work center.

In the background, SAP Digital Manufacturing records the completion of the last operation and updates the inventory by posting the goods receipt of the manufactured control head. The inventory posting as well as operation and (if applicable) order completion is synchronized to SAP S/4HANA.

The following business benefits are shown in this process step:

  • Automation Efficiency: The use of a robot to move the assembled control head reduces manual labor and increases efficiency in the workflow.

  • Inventory Accuracy: SAP Digital Manufacturing updates the inventory in real-time, minimizing errors and discrepancies in stock levels.

  • Operational Synchronization: The synchronization with SAP S/4HANA ensures that all systems are up to date, improving coordination across different departments.

  • Process Transparency: The completion of the last operation is recorded, providing clear visibility into the production process for better decision-making.

  • Improved Tracking: By posting goods receipt automatically, the system enhances traceability and accountability of manufactured goods.

  • Enhanced Productivity: The seamless integration of digital systems reduces downtime and enhances overall production throughput.

  • Order Management: The process indicates timely completion of operations and orders, optimizing the workflow management and delivery schedules.
