Player Availability Overview

Now that you understand how to set up and document the return-to-play process for injured players in SAP Sports One, we will focus on monitoring player statuses and availabilities at the team level. This information is especially relevant for other stakeholders within the club, such as coaches or the rehab staff. These groups need to understand a player’s current status, how to work with the player, and when the player is expected to be available for rehabilitation, training, or matches. Let’s take a closer look at how you can work with player availability in SAP Sports One to ensure transparency and alignment across the entire organization.

The Player Availability section on the home start page in SAP Sports One provides a comprehensive overview of which players are fully fit, partially available, or unavailable for training sessions and matches. Players with an active medical incident are displayed at the top of the availability overview, making them immediately visible. As shown, you can use the available filter options to focus on a specific team. In addition, you can filter by player position or search for individual players by name using the search bar. This overview also clearly shows how a player’s availability changes from day to day, starting from the current date. You can navigate through different calendar weeks to view past or upcoming availability. This way, you always have a clear overview of which players have a medical incident on a given day and which status they are currently in.

When you maintain statuses accurately, any changes to a player's status or availability are immediately reflected in this overview. As shown in the image, the player's availability updates within the defined period. For example, when a player's status changes from Exempt to In Rehab, they can begin participating in the rehabilitation program. This dynamic view ensures that all stakeholders have access to real-time information regarding player availability.

Note

The current player availability is visible across modules in SAP Sports One, such as training and match participation. This ensures that all stakeholders are working with the same up-to-date information and can coordinate their activities effectively. In addition, notifications can be configured so that relevant staff members receive alerts whenever a player’s availability changes. This helps maintain clear and timely communication.

Moreover, you can directly access the medical incident from this page. By hovering over the medical event, you can view all relevant details, including injury information, status data such as recovery percentage, and any notes. From this view, you can also navigate directly to the injury record to access more comprehensive information and track the player’s recovery in detail.

By clicking on Trainings or Treatments, you can also view the player’s upcoming and past sessions - covering the last or next three days. This allows you to see which training sessions the player may have missed, as well as which treatments they have received or are scheduled to receive. This overview helps track the player’s recent activity and ensures that both training and medical staff are aligned on their participation and recovery progress.
