Confirming and Enabling System Requirements

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to set up the required pre-configuration and system requirements for implementing SAP Service Cloud Version 2.

Minimum System requirements

The following minimum system requirements are recommended for using SAP Service Cloud Version 2.

Technical Requirements

  • Minimum network bandwidth requirements (Mbps): 0.6 for up to 20 users; 1.24 for up to 100 users; 6.2 for up to 500 users; and 12.4 for up to 1000 users. For detailed calculations and more information about bandwidth needs, refer to the Network Sizing blog [insert link to > Legal Disclaimer for Links | SAP Help Portal].
  • Minimum desktop and laptop hardware requirements - Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo (2.4 GHz with a 1066 megahertz (MHz) front-side bus) or equivalent; Memory: 6 gigabytes (GB)

Browser Recommendations

  • SAP conducts both manual and automated testing on supported and recommended browsers. The recommended browsers offer better performance and usability. Later versions of these browsers should be compatible but have not yet been tested.
  • Use the latest stable version of the recommended browsers. Be aware that some browsers automatically download and apply updates. SAP makes every effort to test and support the most current stable versions of all recommended browsers.

Language Support

  • SAP supports over 90 languages. Functional limitations: Right-to-left languages (Arabic script and the Hebrew alphabet, written from right to left) are NOT supported for email integration, analytics, or maps.

Pre-Configuration Settings - Language and Region

To prepare for deploying SAP Service Cloud Version 2, a company must ensure that data for the following settings has been identified and is ready for pre-configuration. For example, the company needs to decide what type of currency will be their default.

Currency, language, time zone, country/region, fiscal period, exchange rate highlighted

Currency

Currency pre-configuration involves setting the default currency for your system. It determines the currency used for recording are displaying financial transactions.

Language

Language pre-configuration establishes the default language for your system's user interface and communication. It determines the language of system messages, menus, and other elements.

Time Zone

Time zone pre-configuration sets the default time zone for your system. Date and time values are recorded and shown based on this specified time zone. The time zone also serves as the basis for calculating various types of dates, including those used for determining service level agreements (SLAs).

Country/Region

Country/region pre-configuration sets the default country or region for your system. It helps determine country-specific settings and regulations, such as tax codes, legal requirements, address formats, and regional preferences.

Fiscal Period

Fiscal period pre-configuration determines the structure and timing of fiscal periods for financial reporting. You must set the start and end dates for each period.

Exchange Rate

Pre-configuration of exchange rates sets the currency conversion rates used in your system.
