Bill of Material and Location Products
An SAP IBP transportation lane is generated from SAP ERP info records and the special procurement key of the material master records.
Mode of Transport is one of the keys of the LaneProduct Master Data Type, which allows you to model different modes of transport between a customer product and a location product, or between two location products.
Product demand at a location can be sourced from multiple alternative (parallel) production sources. Multiple PDS allows you to model alternate resources and BOMs.
Sources of supply are procurement options within your supply chain for a particular location material. You use these options to meet demand by producing, procuring externally, or transporting from another location. By setting up a source of supply selection profile, you can select your sources of supply based on different criteria to meet your business requirements.
The following figure shows the Bill of Material and the Location Products that will be used for exercises during this course.

The following figure shows the total lead time to procure the components, produce, and transport T##Phone_A from the Factory to the DCs.
For our exercises, demand needs to be placed outside the lead time.

Note

Supply Chain Network App
The Supply Chain Network app is now compatible with the SAP7F sample planning area for Order-Based Planning based on flexible master data.
With this app, users of SAP7F can now create network charts that visualize their supply chain data.
The following master data types and attributes are necessary to render a supply chain network chart when you are using the planning area that is configured to support OBP based on flexible master data:
| Master Data Type | Attribute |
|---|---|
| PRODUCT | PRDID |
| LOCATION | LOCID, LOCTYPE, PLANTTYPE |
| LOCATIONPRODUCT | LOCID, PRDID |
| TLANE | PRDID, LOCFROM, LOCTO |
| PDS | PRDID, LOCID |
| PDSCOMP | PRDID, LOCID, PRDFROM |
If any of these required attributes are missing from your planning area, you must add them to your planning area and load the corresponding attribute data.
