Using Date Aggregation for Different Views

Objectives

After completing this lesson, you will be able to:

  • Use date aggregation in list view table, chart, and card views

Date Aggregation

Most of the time, analytics involves date-focused data analysis. At some point, you might want to view, for example, transaction and data values for a particular week, month, quarter, or year. You might also want to make period comparisons.

To facilitate this, the date aggregation feature is embedded across all SAP Business One, Web Client Analytics. The date aggregation functionality enables all date-related data to be meaningfully consolidated by period.

In this video, you will learn about the data aggregation feature in list view table, chart, and card views.

Video Summary

  • Every list view automatically adds an additional set of seven fields for every date field. For the Posting Date field, the system adds, for example:
    • Posting Date (Month), which presents the month from 01 to 12.
    • Posting Date (Quarter), which shows Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4.
    • Posting Date (Week), which shows the week number from 01 to 52.
  • To view, add, and remove these fields, from the table view of a list view, choose the View Settings icon and search for date.
  • To add or remove these fields from the filter bar, choose Adapt Filters. Search for the fields you want to filter by and select (or deselect) them from the list.
  • You can group the data by choosing the column header, then selecting Group. You can continue to group the data even within a group. For example, you can group the data by year. Then within the year, group by quarter. Within the quarter, you can group by month, and so on.
  • The date aggregation fields are also available as selectable dimensions in the chart and the card view.
