<div id="content"><p tabindex="0">Consider that you want to import actuals for a measure in a bulk manner. You also want to import targets for a metric that is prebuilt or is defined by you. You can use the import data feature in the Manage ESG data app.</p><p tabindex="0">The app provides guidance on the required templates and process steps based on the user's selected measure or metric. The user-friendly SAP Fiori interface enables easy status tracking, data change monitoring, and error detection with detailed error and warning messages. In this demonstration, you will see how to import data from file. First of all, we select the measure we are interested in. In our case, it is the water quantity. After selecting the measure, we select Import from file. Here we select Import New Data because we actually want to upload data for the period December 2023. We can see that currently the latest published period is December 2022. After selecting Import New Data, the Details screen displays. We now select Import Data. A pop-up appears where we can now browse for the file we want to upload. Here we have the file, Actual Water for 2023. We can select the file, select Open, and start the import process by selecting the Import button. After the import process has been started, we can see that the status is now showing Import in Progress. Once the import is finished, we can see now that the status is Validation Pending. Also, we can see the imported data in the table below. Here we can see the data has been imported for various months in the year 2023 for different business locations with the measure value and the according dimensions for the measure water quantity. To start the validation process, select the Validate Data button. We can see that the status is now Validation in Progress. After validation is finished, we can see that the status has changed to Publishing Pending. Also, we can see that there are two records with errors. To see details, we select the View Error Logs button. Here we can see that there are two different validation messages. One is indicating that for one of the records, The stress category ID value cannot be found. The value used was stress category 3. For the second record, we can see that it's a duplicate record, where data for this exact primary key already exists. To see more details, we can select the Show in Imported Data button. Here we can now see the record with the wrong stress category ID, and we can see that the actual leading zero is missing. So we would need to correct that before uploading this record again. Looking at the one with the duplicate previous error warning, we can see that there the year is actually 2022. So this is probably not meant as a new record for 2023, but as a correction for an already existing record of 2022. So now from here on, we have two options. option is to cancel and discard the whole import run to correct the data with the wrong stress category ID, remove the duplicate for 2022 in a new file, which we then can use to update the already existing record, and then upload the whole set again. The recommended way is to publish the already validated data. Then we only need to correct the one single record that is erroneous and use the other one for the update. Now we click on Publish to publish the validated records. We can see it has been successfully published. Now we go to the error logs and download the error log, which helps to correct the one wrong stress category ID record and upload it again, and use the other one as an update record for the 2022 record. So now, after we have corrected the 2022 record with wrong stress category, we could go through the import from file and import new data and upload the corrected record again. We don't show this here again because this would be the similar process as just shown. What we can see is that the latest published period is now 2023. What we will also see now is how to use that updated record for 2022. To do so, we first check the database on what has already been uploaded. We have made here a pre-selection to already find the correct record we want to update now. This is the one for December 22 for the Business Location APJ with a water quantity of 243.507 megaliters and it's using the stress category 02, the use type water withdrawal. The water source 03. To correct this record, we select the measure of water again, first select Import to Fix Data and then select the Import Data button. Now we browse for the updated record which we can find here and import it. After the import in progress is finished, we can see the record which we will use for updating the already existing one. Here we can see again the year December 2022 for the business location APJ and now we have an updated water quantity of 245 megaliters for the use type water withdrawal, the stress category 02, and the water source 03. We will now validate the data. The status changes to validation in progress. After validation is finished, we can see that there is again an error for this record, indicating that this is a duplicate record. But since we want to update this, we can ignore this warning and select Publish. Now the publishing is in progress and after the publishing is finished, the status changes to Published. We now go back to the database viewer by selecting the row. Note that we still have the pre-selection. We can now see that there are actually three records in the database. The first one is the old record which has been uploaded first. Here we can see the correction record, which is actually invalidating the first one. And then, we can see the third record with the updated water quantity of 245 megaliters. Similarly, you can see when data has been initially uploaded and when it has been corrected and by whom. This helps us to trace how data changes by other updates. You have now seen an overview of how to import data from
