Because quizzes are designed to complement courses, they can only be added as part of a course and cannot be published as standalone microlearning.

- Open Question: Ask learners to type a free-form answer. Builders can use AI to expand accepted answer variants.

Once the quiz is in place, the next step is to build out the individual questions. WalkMe Learning Arc offers a variety of question types to suit different learning objectives and testing needs.
Drag the desired question type from the toolbar into the quiz canvas.
Fill in the question title, description (optional), and answer options.

Creating a Quiz with AI
To begin creating a quiz with AI, we'll first want to:
Enter a short summary of what the quiz is about.
Select lessons to base the quiz on (optional).
Add instructions to guide the layout and content (optional).
Upload files help customize the content (optional).
Files can be used as a reference for AI or included directly in the course.
In the Quiz Outline the builder can review the suggested questions and structure.
Click Create Quiz Outline.

Quiz Settings
Once your questions are in place, it’s time to define how the quiz behaves for learners. These settings control the overall experience—everything from pass/fail logic to answer visibility and content access requirements.

To configure your quiz settings:
Click the settings icon on the quiz cover page to open the Quiz Settings panel.
Define pass requirements by selecting how many questions must be answered correctly. The system automatically calculates the required percentage.
Enable Shuffle Answers to randomize multiple-choice option order for each learner.
Toggle Mandatory Lesson Completion to ensure learners finish all lessons before taking the quiz.
Under Answer Options, choose whether to show the correct answer when a learner answers incorrectly and define when correct answers appear.
