Mapping Invoice Concept Fields

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to map custom fields to Cognos concept fields.

Cognos Concept Fields Overview

Once you map a concept to specific company hierarchies and custom fields, the Data Warehouse Expense Archive job populates this information in the reporting database overnight. These concepts then become available in the data warehouse model, allowing you to add them to custom reports.

Report writers can use these concepts in reports created with Query Studio or Report Studio, without needing to know the actual company hierarchy or custom field names.

It’s important to know that you can’t change the names of the concept fields, but you can change the label names in any report you create. You can also re-map concept fields as needed.

Note

Only customers who use Analysis or Intelligence and Expense or Invoice (not Travel) can use this feature.
