Exploring the Managed Gateway for Spend and Network Add-On

Streamlining the connection between SAP ERP or SAP S/4HANA and SAP Ariba solutions through SAP Integration Suite, managed gateway for spend management, and the SAP Business Network can be achieved through either of the following methods: add-on-based integration or API-based integration. This course focuses on configuring general settings for add-on-based integration.

Add-on based integration facilitates the seamless exchange of documents between SAP Ariba solutions and SAP ERP or SAP S/4HANA systems. This add-on comprises multiple nodes, each requiring a sequential configuration process. These nodes encompass:

  1. Global Settings: These encompass configuration activities that are universally applicable, regardless of the specific SAP Ariba solutions integrated, such as SAP Business Network, SAP Ariba Strategic Sourcing solutions, or SAP Ariba Procurement solutions.
  2. General Settings: These pertain to configuration activities necessary for a particular integration, irrespective of the specific transactions or documents being adopted.
  3. Application Specific Settings: These focus on configuration activities tailored to a specific transaction or document.

To initiate Application Specific Configuration within SAP Integration Suite, managed gateway for spend management, and SAP Business Network add-on, users must first complete the General Settings configuration. This entails a set of configuration activities essential for solution-specific integration, irrespective of the transactions or documents being adopted.

In the following simulation, you’ll navigate to the General Settings node within SPRO.
