Understanding the Connectivity Tool

SAP Integration Suite, managed gateway for spend management and SAP Business Network allows buyers to test the connectivity with their back-end SAP system using the Connectivity Tool.

There are two types of transactions that can be tested:

Transaction Types

Transaction TypeDescription
OutboundTests transactions from the Managed Gateway for Spend and Network to the SAP back-end system.
InboundTests transactions from the SAP back-end system to the Managed Gateway for Spend and Network.

Note

When using Inbound testing, the user can optionally enter the Internet Protocol (IP) address of the system and send a test transaction.

Once a test is performed using the Connectivity Tool, the outcome is presented. If a connection error arises, the tool displays an error message, error codes, and links for troubleshooting the error, which assists in resolving any connectivity problems.

Error Responses

Transaction TypeError Response
OutboundDetails of the error and server response are displayed.
InboundThe error code that appears is searched and troubleshooting details display, including the symptom, the problem, a description, and the solution.

Once the error is resolved, the user can make edits to the specific connection and save the updated information to initiate the connection testing process once again.
