How to Assess, Migrate, and Elevate Your Integrations

Modernizing Integration with SAP Integration Suite

Okay, so I am on my Integration Suite tenant here, and before we start, I have done the setup for setting up Edge Integration Cells. So when you go to Settings, under Runtime, you will be able to see that you have Edge Integration Cells active. And this is the URL, yeah, when you click on it, you will be navigated to Edge Lifecycle Management Node. And here you can check for the upgrades. The version, the current version, and what is the next one. You can also click on this and upgrade yourself. So with this let's move on. In the home screen you will be able to see that all the capabilities are configured here for my tenant and we will move to  SS migration scenarios. I'll click on create request and here I'll show you that I have also connected to my PIPO system. So the PIO system here which I have connected to is 7.50 and I will do a test connection system connected successfully. Now let's try to do a data extraction. So migration assessment have two steps. First is data extraction and scenario evaluation. So what I have also done is I have also extracted the data here, but you can also create the request yourself and try to extract the data. I am not going to do it for this recording. And you can also check while you're extracting the data, the logs. And finally, you will also see that everything is complete. Now I move on to evaluating the scenario, here I have just created a scenario evaluation request and you can see it is completed and let's move on to the dashboard now. This is the overview and you can see the scenarios, the assessment category here, ready to migrate, We have 31 scenarios, 6 needs more evaluation, and there are 20 which requires the adjustments. Now you can also see the effort estimation in t-shirt sizing on the UI. This is something new, the modernization requirements or recommendations. So now you can see that based on the category, we are trying to suggest to you how you can modernize your ICOs when you move to cloud. Yeah, and these detailed reports are also present when you try to download it in PDF file. So you can also you know check it in PDF file. So what I will do is so this is my PDF file, which I have already clicked and downloaded it so here you just click on Modernization Recommendations and when you move to the documentation here, it will show you how you can modernize for example, if you have RFCs or BAPIs, we recommend you to move to more of SOAP, ODATA-based APIs. You can replace your custom interfaces using pre-packaged, pre-delivered content, iDocs to business events, and you can just go through everything and read by yourself. We are trying to get these recommendations in the tool also, so it is in our roadmap. Okay, so once you have determined your evaluation or determined your landscape and you have all these reports, you are all convinced. Let's move on to integration suite tenant again, and I will try to open the cloud integration capability, because as I have already told during my presentation that migration wizard is embedded in cloud integration here. So I will move to build integration scenarios. And before I move there, since this pop-up has popped up, so let's say if you are using the older version of Edge Integration Cell, you can see that we also recommend you to upgrade. So now I'll close this pop-up. And I will move to design. So here what I have done is, I have just created a prepackage, I have just created a package for you and here under artifacts we will try to edit and migrate a simple point to point scenario. This is my PO system and this is something new, the recent one where we have moved from template based approach to pattern based approach. And you can see that this is the system and I will move to next step. I will try to just search a scenario which is there in my system. So let's pick number conversion. Now you see that instead of template we suggest you a pattern and we just have three patterns now point-to-point synchronous, point-to-point asynchronous and recipient list. So here with for this point-to-point sync is best fitted. You can see this. If you don't want to use this, you can also use the default one. But for now, let's select point-to-point synchronous. I move to next step and then we will also uncheck this checkbox. Okay, so we name this integration flow as point to point demo and just click on review yes and then click on migrate So, you can see that the ICO from your PO system is now migrated to Integration Suite and this is how your iFLO looks like. Now you can quickly go to Deploy and deploy it either on Cloud Integration or on Edge Integration cell depending on your needs. So let's deploy it on Edge Integration Cell. And I will click on Yes now. It's deployed. We will quickly check in monitoring. So in monitoring also, you have two views now, Cloud Integration and Edge Integration Cell. So we deployed it on our Edge node. And you can see the point-to-point demo is started. Now you can test it in any of the rest client, which I will not do it for now. I will move on to a second scenario where I wanted to show you how we have brought in together the common designer. So I have already created an artifact of type API. So this is my URL. And what I wanted to show you is the common designer now. So you can see, if you try to edit it, you can have your search production policy here. I have already applied it. So it is very easy. You can just configure and put the number of calls in a UI and duration too. So this is how you can do it. And whenever you try to click on the next, you can also add your flow steps. So I have just added XML to JSON converter here. And if you just see how these policy editor and iFlow process steps have come together. So again, you can choose to deploy this API artifact now to Edge Integration Cell. I will click Yes. And when I go to Monitoring and select the runtime as Edge Integration Cell, you should be able to see your API artifact also here. So you can see we have just now deployed, and it has come here. So that's what I wanted to show it to you as part of the demo. Thanks for watching.
