Formatting Sections

Objective

After completing this lesson, you will be able to demonstrate the ability to apply background styles, hide rules, and adjust layout settings to effectively customize section presentation in a Web Intelligence document.

Format Sections

To view formatting settings, select a section and then select the Report Element Format tab.

Display Settings

  • Hide Section Instances section: When empty, When the following are empty.
  • Hide Entire Section section: Always, When following formula is true.
  • Navigation Map section: Show section in navigation map.

Appearance Settings

  • Background section: No color, Color.
  • Background section \ Pattern sub-section: None, Skin, URL, File, Linear Gradient.

Layout Settings

  • Section Instances section: Minimum height, Bottom padding.
  • Section Instances section \ Page Break sub-section: Start instances on a new page, Repeat section cell on every page, Avoid page break in instances.
  • Section Instances section \ Section Layout sub-section: Minimum top offset, Top margin.
