A section helps you organize and display data in a clear way in your reports.
When you create a section, it divides your data into parts based on a particular dimension or attribute. This helps you focus on certain groups of data and makes large reports easier to read by breaking them into smaller parts.
Each section has its own header. The related data appears below the header, which makes it easier for you to review and understand the information.
The advantages of sections are as follows:
- You can include more than one block from the same micro cube in a single report. Each block is grouped by section.
- You can add subtotal cells to each section by dragging and dropping them.

Add a Section
To create a section, right-click to open the context menu and select Set as Section.

Report Data Fold and Unfold
The Fold and Unfold features help you manage and view large data sets in your reports:
- Fold: This action collapses sections or breaks in your data. You can then focus on the summary or key figures. This reduces clutter in our report and makes it easier to navigate.
- Unfold: This action expands the folded sections or breaks and shows the detailed data. Use this when you want to review specific parts of your data.
Activate the Fold/Unfold mode
To activate Fold/Unfold mode, use the Display section of the Main toolbar.

Let's Summarize What You've Learned
- Organize your report data by creating sections based on specific dimensions or attributes.
- Use sections to group your data, add subtotals, and improve how easy your report is to read.
- Note the difference between sections, which use separate headers, and breaks, which split data within a block.
- Use Fold and Unfold to switch between summary and detailed views of your data.
